Who is Role Skillnet
Role was established in 2006 by a number of organisations in the Roscommon Leitrim area. Initial discussions showed that the organisation shared common training problems, namely,
- Sourcing training programmes
- The location of available courses
The overall aims of the network are to improve the level of “SKILL”s across a wide range of sectors within our “NET”work of companies and enhance employability for the employed and unemployed.Role Skillnet is funded by member companies and Skillnets who are funded from the National Training Fund through the Department of Education and Skills.We also have specific job seekers programmes running throughout the year.Skillnets is an industry-led body established to promote and support training in enterprises. Skillnets was established in 1999 and is funded from the National Training Fund (NTF) through the Department of Education and Skills (DES).Skillnets distribute this funding amongst 60 training networks nation-wide including Role Skillnet. In a recent survey; Skillnets has funded 5,537 courses upskilling 46,449 individuals in 2014
Who is Skillnet
Role Skillnet approved funding for a Job-seekers Support Programme (JSSP) . This initiative is aimed solely at unemployed people and includes free training in skills in demand by companies combined with direct access to employers through meaningful work placements. All our courses are opened to the unemployed on an interview basis.
By working together, these organised developed new, low cost, customised, and locally based solutions for their member companies nation-wide.
