Hats Off to Cookery Course Students in Boyle
Pictured below are the participants who took part in a Foundation Cookery Course held in Boyle, Co Roscommon this spring.
The course was organised by Role Skillnet as part of a JSSP programme and took place in Abbey Community College, Boyle
The course was designed to upskill participants for job opportunities in the Food and Hospitality Sectors. The sector currently employs over 158,000 people in over 16,000 enterprises and has been identified as an employment growth sector. The course was timed to coincide with the start of the 2016 tourist season. The course was “hands on” and enabled the participants to learn practical cookery and theory.
At the certificate presentation attended by PSM Noreen Fitzpatrick participant’s were awarded certificates in Foundation Cookery, HACCP Food Hygiene, First Aid, and Customer Focus. Speaking at the event, Network Manager, Michael Gilmartin thanked all who had taken part or supported the programme with special mention for Course Tutor, Tonya Keane, Network Administrator Sonia Dunne and Programme Support Manager Noreen Fitzpatrick.
Programme Support Manager Noreen Fitzpatrick said she was delighted to attend the event and complimented the participants on their achievement. She said the hospitality sector are forecasting 40,000 job vacancies in the next few years and urged the participants to tap into these opportunities.
